It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Leopoldo Rivas Cabral, who departed from this world in his sleep on May 2nd, following a year-long battle as he courageously fought to recover his health. He was surrounded by love, hope, and the unwavering support of his family until his final breath.
Leopoldo, fondly known to those close to him as “Polo,” was a man defined by his warmth, joy, and deep commitment to those he loved. An honorable soul through and through, Leopoldo lived a life guided by kindness, laughter, and an open heart. Whether it was a family gathering, a neighborhood celebration, or simply a moment shared with a friend, he made it his mission to bring light and levity to every room he entered.
He especially loved to dance — not just as a hobby, but as a way of connecting with life, with his culture, and with those around him. For him, dancing was a celebration of joy and resilience, even through hardship. His smile was infectious, and his presence reassuring.
What mattered most to Leopoldo was family. Every moment spent with loved ones was sacred to him. He was a steady presence — always available with a listening ear, a comforting word, or a joke to lift your spirits. Even in his most difficult days, he never let go of hope or gratitude, always expressing appreciation for those who stood by him.
One of Leopoldo’s final wishes was to be laid to rest in his beloved hometown, a place that held his earliest memories, his roots, and the spirit of where his story began. Honoring this wish would mean giving him the peace and dignity he so richly deserves — a way for his family to say a proper goodbye and bring him home one last time.
In these challenging times, Leopoldo’s family is reaching out to the community for support — emotional, financial, or simply in helping spread this message. Any assistance will go directly toward fulfilling Leopoldo’s last wish and helping his loved ones cope with the significant burdens that come with such a loss.
Please consider sharing this message with others, and most importantly, keep Leopoldo Rivas Cabral and his family in your thoughts and prayers. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Thank you for your compassion.
