In a statement, WestJet said emergency crews responded immediately, deploying foam as a precaution. The airline added that the aircraft’s slides were activated and all passengers and crew safely evacuated before being transported to the terminal.
WestJet confirmed there were no injuries and that everyone on board had been accounted for. “At this time, we are awaiting confirmation on the exact nature of the incident,” the company noted.
