Texarkana, TX – A domestic dispute turned violent early Sunday morning, leading to the arrest of 22-year-old Ianna Fulton after a man was discovered with a stab wound to his back inside a crashed vehicle at an apartment complex on College Drive.
The Texarkana Police Department (TPD) reported that officers responded to the incident around 5:40 a.m. after receiving a call about a vehicle crash at an apartment complex located in the 1000 block of College Drive. Upon arrival, officers found that the vehicle had not struck the building itself, but rather collided with an external air conditioning unit adjacent to the structure.
Inside the vehicle, police discovered a 28-year-old man unconscious and suffering from a deep stab wound to the center of his back. Immediate medical aid was rendered, and the man was rushed to a local hospital. He remains in serious condition but is expected to survive, according to authorities.
Following an on-scene investigation, TPD determined that the stabbing occurred inside one of the apartments during an argument between the victim and his girlfriend, identified as Ianna Fulton. Police believe the confrontation escalated, resulting in Fulton allegedly stabbing the man. After being wounded, the victim reportedly fled the apartment in an attempt to drive away but managed to travel only a short distance before losing control and crashing.
During questioning, Fulton allegedly told officers that the man had stabbed himself—an account that investigators found inconsistent with the evidence. Based on the circumstances and physical findings at the scene, officers placed Fulton under arrest for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second-degree felony in Texas.
Fulton is currently being held at the Bi-State Jail while the investigation continues. No bond has been set at this time.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim pending notification of family members. Police have also not disclosed whether there were any prior reports of domestic disturbances involving the couple.
The Texarkana Police Department encourages anyone with additional information about the incident to come forward. This remains an active investigation, and updates will be provided as more details become available.
