A death investigation is underway in Macon, Georgia, following a tragic shooting that occurred late Monday night, May 12, 2025, at Freedom Park, located in the 3300 block of Roff Avenue. The victim, 39-year-old Jarvis Kentral Curtis, was found near the lake with a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bibb County Coroner’s Office.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a person down near the lake just after 11:30 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Curtis unresponsive. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not identified any suspects, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. An autopsy has been scheduled as part of the ongoing investigation.  

Curtis’s wife, Lakeisha Faulk, is seeking answers and justice for her husband’s death. In an interview, she expressed her grief and the need for closure, urging anyone with information to come forward.
