Macon Community in Shock After Fatal Freedom Park Shooting Claims Life of 39-Year-Old Jarvis Kentral Curtis; Death Investigation Underway
A death investigation is underway in Macon, Georgia, following a tragic shooting that occurred late Monday night, May 12, 2025, at Freedom Park, located in the 3300 block of Roff Avenue. The victim, 39-year-old Jarvis Kentral Curtis, was found near the lake with a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Bibb County Coroner’s Office.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a person down near the lake just after 11:30 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Curtis unresponsive. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
