Disney World guest accuses staff of laughing as she suffered ‘medical emergency’ that led to her arrest: lawsuit
A Disney World guest is suing the theme park behemoth and local law enforcement, as well as accusing cast members of refusing to call 911 when she asked, according to a lawsuit.
Halen Holton, from Missouri, said in her court filing that she was experiencing a “medical emergency” which left her feeling as though her body was “shutting down” during a visit to the park last year.
Rather than get medical attention, she was arrested.
According to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, officers took Holton into custody on the evening of April 11, 2025.
Holton was accused of causing a disturbance by yelling in a public area at the Magic Kingdom and was issued a trespass warning.

After she refused to leave, Holton allegedly resisted attempts to detain her by tensing and pulling away. That led her to be charged with trespass after warning, disorderly intoxication and resisting an officer without arrest.
However, in her lawsuit, Holton says she was begging officers to provide her with medical attention during the apprehension.
The lawsuit says that Holton had arrived at the park following a late-night journey and a missed flight.
While at the resort, a “domestic violence” incident unfolded, prompting Holton to flee by taking a bus.
Eventually, staff allegedly ordered a third-party taxi to take her back to her vehicle, advising her to leave, she claims.
It was later that evening, after checking into a resort hotel, that Holton began experiencing symptoms of confusion, feeling faint, weakness and overheating, her lawsuit claims.
“I couldn’t operate my phone or do anything,” she is quoted as saying in the documents.

However, when she reached out to a bus driver for help, Holton said that he told her that he needed to finish his shift.
According to her, other staff members “laughed at and minimized” her concerns despite her telling them that she had “medical issues and over 10 doctors.”
Cops eventually arrived on the scene and began discussing her symptoms, Holton alleges.
When Holton tried to leave, she was blocked by an officer. After she told her sister to film the incident, Holton was arrested, her lawsuit claims.
Eventually, she was allegedly placed in a police car without air conditioning.
“I truly thought I was going to die, my body feeling lifeless,” Holton wrote. “I began saying my goodbyes on the car’s camera.”
During the arrest, officers suggested that the medical emergency could have been triggered by an “unspecified susbtance,” although Holton says that she did not take any drugs.
The lawsuit states that Holton was subsequently taken to an Orange County jail.

Holton alleges that her clothes were ripped off at the facility and that she resorted to using “soiled toilet water” to remain cool.
When she was given fresh clothes, Holton says that she had an “accident” which she was accused of doing deliberately.
The next evening, Holton says that her bond was processed and that she was released.
As she began leaving her cell, she was briefly locked back in the room and forced to scrub off the words “911 help me” that she had scrawled on the door.
After leaving the jail, she drove to Daytona Advent Hospital.
Holton says that she has a past medical history that includes “organ failure, complicated pregnancies, and chronic pain.”
Her sister also suffered symptoms of confusion during the event, according to the lawsuit.
