    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) — Two individuals, 29-year-old Shan Lindell Ford Jr. and 37-year-old Quenecia Labre Gaylor, are facing serious charges in connection to a deadly shooting that unfolded on June 26, 2025, in Fort Wayne. According to newly released court documents, the confrontation, which stemmed from an act of vandalism at Gaylor’s beauty salon, left two people dead and has shaken the local community.

    Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a report of a shooting near Smith Street and Hamilton Avenue just after noon on Thursday. When they arrived, they found one man dead inside the entryway of a home and a woman fatally wounded in the driver’s seat of a crashed SUV nearby. Both victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

    Surveillance Footage Details Sequence of Events

    Surveillance video reviewed by detectives showed Quenecia Gaylor, Shan Ford, and an unidentified woman arriving at the residence in an SUV. Gaylor was carrying a computer tower, and Ford was armed with a handgun. The three approached the home and knocked on the front door. A child answered, and Gaylor asked to speak with an adult.

    According to the police report, Shan Ford attempted to force his way into the house. When the door was closed on him, he allegedly yelled:

    “Come out or I’m gonna paint this b**** up!” — multiple times, before stepping off the porch.

    Quenecia Gaylor then walked to the side of the house and allegedly threw the computer tower through a window. Moments later, a man inside the home opened the door with a gun, and a gunfight broke out between him and Ford. The man was killed at the scene.

    Motive Linked to Salon Vandalism

    During police interviews, Gaylor explained that the unidentified woman with her and Ford had previously dated the male victim. Gaylor said her beauty salon had been vandalized the night before when the victim allegedly threw a computer tower through her window. She claimed they went to the man’s mother’s house to speak with her about the incident.

    According to Gaylor, she told Ford to walk away when the male victim opened the door and saw Ford was armed. After the door shut, Gaylor reportedly threw the computer tower through the window and said:

    “Don’t even worry about it, now we’re even.”

    As they began to leave, the man opened the door and fired several shots at them, according to her account. Ford returned fire, and in the exchange, a bullet entered the SUV and fatally struck the woman riding with them. The vehicle then crashed into a nearby home.

    Charges and Arrests

    •Shan Lindell Ford Jr. was arrested the following morning. He is charged with:

    •Murder

    •Felony Murder

    •Attempted Burglary

    •Quenecia Labre Gaylor was arrested on Thursday and faces:

    •Murder – Acting in Concert

    •Felony Murder – Acting in Concert

    •Attempted Burglary

    Police stated in the probable cause affidavit that both Ford and Gaylor went to the residence armed and with the intent to cause serious bodily injury or death.

    Victim Information Pending

    The Allen County Coroner’s Office is working to formally identify both victims following autopsies and has not yet released their names publicly. However, court documents indicate the man who was shot inside the home had previously been involved in the dispute with Gaylor.
