INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred in downtown Indianapolis early Saturday morning, leaving at least seven individuals wounded and two confirmed dead.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), officers were dispatched to the area of West Market Street and North Illinois Street just before 1:30 a.m. on July 6, 2025, following reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, responding officers located at least three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
A total of seven people were ultimately confirmed as victims, with one additional person arriving at a local hospital independently after the incident.
IMPD has confirmed that two victims have died as a result of their injuries.
The conditions of the other victims have not been publicly disclosed at this time.

Investigators remain at the scene, and the case is active and ongoing.
Authorities have not released any information regarding a suspect or motive.
