Verona, MS — July 7, 2025 – The Verona Police Department is actively investigating a deadly shooting that occurred on Sunday, July 6, 2025, in the 107 block of Arizona Drive. Officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 4:45 p.m. following reports of gunfire in the area.
Upon arrival, law enforcement quickly secured the location and began collecting evidence. Early details from the investigation indicate that the incident resulted from a confrontation between two females that escalated into violence. Victim Identified as Iesha Listenbee.
The woman fatally wounded in the incident has been identified as Iesha Listenbee, 34, a resident of Verona, Mississippi. Following the shooting, Iesha was transported to North Mississippi Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased later that evening.
The loss of Iesha Listenbee has left her family, friends, and the wider Verona community reeling. She is remembered as a vibrant and kind-hearted individual whose sudden passing has deeply affected all who knew her.
