A tragic three-vehicle crash early Monday morning, July 14, 2025, on Route 309 in Lynn Township, Lehigh County, claimed the life of Kassandra F. Milkewicz, a 36-year-old resident of Lansford, Carbon County. The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Milkewicz was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:04 a.m.
Milkewicz was driving an SUV northbound on Route 309 near the intersection of Mountain Road and Mosserville Road when the collision occurred. The crash involved her vehicle, a sedan driven by a 20-year-old man from Bethlehem, and a tractor-trailer operated by a 53-year-old man from New Ringgold, Schuylkill County. Authorities have not released information regarding injuries to the other drivers involved.
An autopsy conducted by the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office determined that Milkewicz’s cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma resulting from the motor vehicle collision. The manner of death has been officially ruled an accident.
The Pennsylvania State Police, assisted by the Troop M Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Specialist, Troop M Forensic Services Unit, Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Cetronia Ambulance, and New Tripoli Fire Company, are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading to the crash. Details about the cause of the collision remain under investigation, and no further information has been released at this time.
The crash caused significant traffic disruptions, with detours in place on Route 309 northbound at Route 143 and southbound at Route 895 until approximately 7 a.m. on Monday. Local residents have noted that the intersection is considered dangerous due to high speeds and limited visibility when approaching Route 309. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has begun reviewing this section of Route 309, including its intersection with Mountain Road, following recent crashes in the area.
