A 2-year-old girl, Autumn Shelley, was kidnapped from her grandmother’s home in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood early Wednesday morning, July 23, 2025. The incident occurred at approximately 4:50 a.m. in the 4800-block of South Michigan Avenue, prompting an urgent police investigation.

According to authorities, the child’s grandmother, Raven Shelley, reported that Autumn’s mother forcibly entered the home, took the girl, and fled in a stolen gray Nissan hatchback. Chicago police confirmed that the mother, accompanied by two men, was armed with firearms during the break-in. The group not only abducted Autumn but also took additional items from the apartment before escaping in the vehicle.

Despite the severity of the incident, an Amber Alert has not been issued, as police have classified the situation as a domestic matter. No injuries were reported during the incident, and no suspects are currently in custody. Chicago police are actively searching for Autumn Shelley and have not released further details about the suspects or the child’s description to the public. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to locate the missing toddler and ensure her safe return.
