Waterloo Police have identified one of the victims in a deadly shooting that occurred late Sunday night, leaving one man dead and a woman injured.
Authorities confirmed that 20-year-old A’Tarion Key ‘Won De ‘Shawn Spates of Waterloo was shot and killed just before 11:00 p.m. on July 7.
Responding officers initially located a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound near 1641 Mulberry Street.
She was transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover.
While on scene, officers were directed to a second location at 1742 Mulberry Street, where they discovered Spates.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
As of Monday morning, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
