The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has officially canceled the Amber Alert issued for 3-year-old Jibreel Harum after the child was located unharmed and his father, 41-year-old Aaron Dontay Williams, was taken into custody.

Williams was apprehended at approximately 7:15 a.m. on Friday by U.S. Marshals, the FBI, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

He had been the subject of an intense multi-agency manhunt after being identified as the primary suspect in the murder of his wife and 13-year-old stepdaughter in Auburn, Alabama.

Authorities had issued a $15,000 reward for information leading to Williams’ arrest.

The tragic incident began when Auburn police responded to a welfare check at a residence on Samantha Court around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

After forcing entry, officers discovered the bodies of a woman and a teenage girl inside.

Lee County Coroner Daniel Sexton identified the victims a Tyeisha Williams, 34, and Zynniya Wright, 13.

Investigators believe the homicides occurred within a 48-hour window prior to discovery, giving Williams a substantial head start in his attempt to flee.

He was believed to be traveling in a gray 2010 Honda Accord with Alabama license plate 43A224A.

Authorities also warned the public that Williams was considered armed and dangerous.

Auburn Assistant Police Chief Michael Harris emphasized the gravity of the situation at a press briefing:

“The child was believed to be in imminent danger. We had strong reason to believe Williams was armed with a firearm. We urge the public to always call 911 and not to approach suspects like this.”

While the immediate threat has passed with the safe recovery of Jibreel and the arrest of Williams, investigators continue to piece together the timeline and motive behind the murders.
