Bradley Mikel Wilson Arrested for Attempted Kidnapping of 8-Year-Old at Jefferson County Safeway
Jefferson County, CO — June 21, 2025 — Authorities have arrested 54-year-old Bradley Mikel Wilson (DOB 04/30/1991) in connection with the attempted kidnapping of an 8-year-old girl from a Safeway grocery store in Jefferson County. The alarming incident unfolded late Saturday morning and has left the community shaken.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), deputies were dispatched to the Safeway located at 5025 S. Kipling Parkway around 11:30 a.m. after a report of a possible abduction attempt inside the store.
Attempted Abduction Inside Safeway
The young girl was shopping with her grandmother in the store’s produce section when Wilson—a stranger to both the girl and her grandmother—approached and placed his hands on the child’s shoulders. He allegedly said something along the lines of, “May I borrow your child?”, and began walking the girl toward the exit.
The grandmother quickly intervened, shouting at Wilson, which allowed the child to break free and return to her side. But the ordeal did not end there—Wilson briefly exited the store, then reentered and attempted to take the girl again. This time, store employees confronted him, prompting Wilson to flee the store in a vehicle before deputies arrived.
Swift Arrest by JCSO
Thanks to detailed witness accounts and surveillance footage, law enforcement was able to track Wilson’s vehicle. He was located shortly afterward near Highway 285 and Willow Springs Road, where deputies conducted a stop and took him into custody without incident.
Wilson was transported to the Jefferson County Detention Facility, where he is being held on a charge of 2nd Degree Kidnapping. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance on June 23, 2025.
Child and Grandmother Unharmed
Thankfully, the girl and her grandmother were not physically injured in the incident. However, law enforcement acknowledged the trauma that such an event can cause, particularly to a young child.
“This situation could have been far worse,” said one official familiar with the case. “The grandmother’s quick actions and the vigilance of the store staff played a critical role in ensuring the child’s safety.”

Authorities noted that all charges are currently allegations, and Bradley Mikel Wilson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The investigation is ongoing. Detectives are examining whether Wilson may have had similar interactions or prior incidents involving children. Anyone with information related to this case is urged to come forward.
