CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. — Cannon Air Force Base has been placed on full lockdown early Friday morning after reports of an active shooter on or near the installation prompted immediate security measures.
Authorities are actively investigating the nature of the reported threat, including whether the shooter is still on-site or has moved into surrounding areas. Air Force security forces, in conjunction with federal and local law enforcement, are reviewing surveillance footage, interviewing witnesses, and coordinating tactical responses to neutralize any danger.
