Crosby Community Mourns Loss of Mark Brown After Tragic Motorcycle Crash on Highway 1960

Crosby, Texas (October 31, 2025) — The Crosby community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Mark Brown, a long-time resident known for his friendly spirit and dedication to local volunteer work. Brown’s life was tragically cut short in a motorcycle accident on Highway 1960 near Moonshine Hill Road, within the Humble/Atascocita area, on the evening of October 31, 2025.

According to preliminary reports from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 8:45 p.m., in an active construction zone along the eastbound lanes of Highway 1960. Investigators believe Brown, 42, was traveling east on his motorcycle when he lost control due to uneven pavement near a temporary lane divider. The motorcycle skidded before colliding with a construction barrier, throwing Brown several feet from the roadway.

Emergency responders, including deputies and paramedics from the Atascocita Fire Department, arrived within minutes of the 911 call. Despite their efforts to stabilize him at the scene, Brown was later pronounced deceased at a nearby hospital.

Authorities confirmed that no other vehicles were directly involved in the crash.
