Fatal Motorcycle-Vehicle Collision at North Avenue and N 5th Street Claims Rider’s Life; Investigation Underway, Speed a Possible Factor
At approximately 10:15 a.m., first responders from the Grand Junction Police Department (#GJPD) and the Grand Junction Fire Department arrived on the scene at the intersection of North Avenue and N 5th Street following a tragic collision involving a motorcycle and another vehicle. Despite the rapid response and life-saving efforts by EMTs on site, the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Mesa County Coroner’s Office has been notified and will release the identity of the deceased once all appropriate family notifications have been made, respecting privacy and due process during this difficult time.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, North Avenue between N 4th Street and N 7th Street will remain closed for several hours.
