GULFPORT, MS — A tragic incident unfolded on the evening of May 5 near Azteca’s Restaurant & Cantina on Highway 49, where the Gulfport Police Department has confirmed that a shooting resulted in one fatality. The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Christopher Skinner, a Gulfport resident.
The fatal shooting occurred at approximately 9:36 p.m., during what is typically a festive time for many observing Cinco de Mayo. According to preliminary reports from law enforcement officials, an altercation broke out in the restaurant’s parking lot.
