Grant Street Murder Investigation UPDATE: Suspect Identified in Shooting Death of Ar’mon Covington
AKRON, OH — Detectives with the Akron Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit have made a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Ar’mon Covington, who was killed in a senseless act of violence on Grant Street.
After days of investigation, police have identified the suspect in the case as Damario McCall, and multiple felony warrants have been issued for his arrest. McCall is now officially wanted on the following charges:
- Murder
- Having Weapons While Under Disability
- Carrying Concealed Weapons
Authorities describe Damario McCall as a Black male, approximately 5’5” tall and weighing around 195 pounds. He is known to wear eyeglasses with thick prescription lenses and should be considered armed and extremely dangerous. Law enforcement urges the public not to approach McCall under any circumstances.
