The Mazda was occupied by a 22-year-old male driver and a 20-year-old female passenger, both of whom sustained critical injuries. They were airlifted by Maryland State Police Aviation Command to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for emergency medical treatment. Their current conditions have not been publicly disclosed.

Once completed, the findings will be submitted to the Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney’s Office for review to determine if any charges will be filed. The crash led to the closure of southbound U.S. Route 301 for approximately three hours, with traffic resuming around 12:40 p.m. on July 22, 2025.
