Henderson Police Release Name of Officer Involved in Recent Officer-Involved Shooting

HENDERSON, Nev. (June 28, 2025) — The Henderson Police Department has officially released the name of the officer involved in a recent officer-involved shooting that occurred earlier this week. According to the department’s statement, the officer has been identified as Officer Michael Stevens, a ten-year veteran of the force.

The incident took place on Wednesday, June 26, 2025, in the 3800 block of Casa Colorado Avenue, a residential area in the southeastern part of the city. Specific details about what led to the shooting have not yet been made public, as the investigation remains active and ongoing.

Officer Michael Stevens, who joined the City of Henderson Police Department in July 2015, is currently assigned to the Operations Support Division. Following standard protocol, Officer Stevens has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the internal and external investigations.

This marks the second officer-involved shooting in Henderson in 2025, prompting increased scrutiny and public interest in the department’s use-of-force policies and practices. The department reiterated that all officer-involved shootings are thoroughly investigated to ensure transparency and accountability.

The department is working in conjunction with the Clark County District Attorney’s Office and other independent agencies to review the circumstances surrounding the incident. Body-worn camera footage, witness statements, and forensic evidence are all being examined as part of the multi-agency investigation.

As is standard in such cases, further details — including the condition and identity of any involved civilians — have not yet been disclosed. The Henderson Police Department encourages the public to await verified information as the investigation progresses.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to contact Officer Lindsay Vukanovich at 702-267-4509.

The Henderson Police Department stated it remains committed to maintaining public trust and transparency while following all legal and procedural standards during the review process.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
