In a significant development following a multi-agency investigation, law enforcement officials have announced the arrest of a Henry County man in connection with the death of 36-year-old Kristiana Shook-Livingston. The suspect, identified as 54-year-old Mark Odom of 2810 Vale Road in Mansfield, Tennessee, was formally charged with criminal homicide on May 13, 2025.

Odom is currently being held at the Henry County Jail under a bond set at $2.5 million.

The investigation was a joint effort involving the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), the 24th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, and the Murfreesboro Police Department. Their collaborative efforts began after the body of Mrs. Shook-Livingston was discovered earlier in the week off Copper Springs Road in Springville, Tennessee — a rural area just northeast of Paris, in Henry County.

Initial reports of a missing person quickly escalated into a criminal investigation when authorities recovered the deceased woman’s body under suspicious circumstances. Law enforcement officials were tight-lipped in the early stages of the case, but the swift progress in identifying and charging a suspect has been attributed in part to public cooperation.

Henry County Sheriff Josh Frey extended his gratitude to the community, acknowledging that tips and information from local residents played a crucial role in leading investigators to a resolution.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Kristiana Shook-Livingston,” said Sheriff Frey in a statement released to the press. “This has been a heartbreaking case, but thanks to the hard work of all agencies involved — and the assistance of the public — we were able to bring a suspect into custody swiftly. The collaborative nature of this investigation showcases the strength of interagency partnerships and community support in times of crisis.”

Authorities have not released further details regarding the motive or timeline of events leading to Mrs. Shook-Livingston’s death. The case remains active and ongoing, with investigators continuing to piece together evidence as they prepare for upcoming judicial proceedings.

The TBI, which often assists local agencies in complex or high-profile investigations, commended the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and local partners for their tireless efforts in the field. The 24th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is expected to lead the prosecution of the case.

No court date has yet been announced, but officials have confirmed that Mark Odom will remain in custody pending further legal proceedings.

As the community continues to mourn the loss of Kristiana Shook-Livingston, authorities have reiterated their commitment to justice and the pursuit of truth in her memory. Residents are encouraged to come forward with any additional information that could assist the investigation by contacting the Henry County Sheriff’s Office directly.
