Born and raised in Cat Spring, Texas, Cilena was a proud graduate of Katy High School and went on to pursue higher education at Texas State University, where she cultivated her deep love of science and her gift for teaching. Cilena found her calling as a Chemistry and Physics teacher at San Marcos High School, where she inspired her 10th-grade students not just to understand the complexities of science, but to believe in their own potential. Known for her hands-on demonstrations, creative lesson plans, and ability to make even the most difficult subjects accessible, Cilena was more than just a teacher — she was a mentor, a guide, and a friend to her students.
