In Loving Memory of Gabriel Sleiman

Spread the love

It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of our beloved student, Gabriel Sleiman, a promising first-year Computer Science major at the Lebanese American University (LAU). Gabriel lost his life in a devastating car accident on April 25, leaving a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Gabriel was more than just a student — he was a beacon of light on our campus. Known for his warm smile, kind heart, and boundless generosity, Gabriel made an impression wherever he went. Whether in the classroom, during campus events, or among his peers, he radiated a spirit of joy, curiosity, and compassion. His positivity was infectious, his enthusiasm unmatched, and his presence uplifting. He had a rare ability to make others feel seen, heard, and valued — a true gift to those around him.

A dedicated learner, Gabriel was deeply passionate about technology and innovation, and his bright future was evident to all who taught and mentored him. But it was not only his academic promise that stood out — it was his character, his unwavering kindness, and his belief in the good in people that truly made him remarkable. He was a loyal friend, a loving family member, and an inspiration to many.

In this time of grief, we take solace in the legacy Gabriel leaves behind — a legacy of love, kindness, courage, and hope. These were not just ideals to him; they were the way he lived his life. He showed us how to be better — to care more, to give more freely, to smile more often, and to treat each day as a chance to uplift those around us.

As a community, we mourn this immense loss together. Our hearts go out to Gabriel’s family, friends, classmates, and professors. We hold them close in our thoughts and prayers and share in their pain and sorrow.

To anyone struggling with this loss, please know that you are not alone. The Counseling Services at LAU are available to support all students, faculty, and staff. Grieving is a personal journey, but you do not have to walk it by yourself. Reach out. Talk. Share. Let us help each other heal.

In memory of Gabriel Sleiman, let us commit to living with the same kindness, empathy, and hope that he so beautifully embodied. Let us honor his life not just in mourning, but in the way we choose to live ours.

Rest in peace, dear Gabriel. Your light will continue to shine in our hearts.
