It is with heavy hearts that we share the deeply saddening news of the passing of Linda Moffat, one of the cherished founders of our organization. Words cannot fully capture the depth of our loss, nor the immense gratitude we feel for the life and legacy of a woman whose vision and devotion transformed not only our library, but the lives of all who walked through its doors.
Linda was more than a founder. She was a force of nature—a guiding light whose passion, energy, and unwavering commitment inspired those around her to dream bigger and reach further. Her influence radiated through every corner of our organization, from the earliest days of uncertainty to the flourishing community hub we are proud of today.
It was Linda’s insight and drive that helped chart the course for our journey. She championed literacy, creativity, and community connection with an unmatched determination. One of her most significant contributions was her leadership in the relocation of our library to its current home—a bright, open, welcoming space where ideas take root and friendships grow. This move was no small feat, but with Linda at the helm, it became a seamless transition that ushered in a new chapter of possibility and promise.
A pioneer in every sense, Linda was instrumental in the creation and nurturing of our Innovation Lab, an initiative that has since become a cornerstone of our mission to empower learning and creativity in all its forms. Through her tireless support, countless programs—big and small—were launched and sustained. From children’s reading circles and adult literacy sessions to tech workshops and cultural events, Linda’s fingerprints are on every success story we’ve had the privilege to witness.
For many of us, the library has become a second home—a place where people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life come together in pursuit of knowledge, connection, and hope. This sense of belonging and purpose is a direct reflection of Linda’s heart. She believed, always, in the power of community.
If we consider ourselves “Friends of the Library,” then it is without question that Linda Moffat was—and will forever remain—our greatest Friend. Her generosity of spirit, her courageous leadership, and her boundless compassion have left a legacy that will continue to guide and inspire us for generations to come.
Thank you, Linda—for everything. For dreaming boldly, for building faithfully, and for loving this library and its people so completely. You will be profoundly missed, but never forgotten. Your story is now a part of all our stories, and your spirit will live on in every book opened, every idea shared, and every life touched within these walls.
With deepest sympathy and heartfelt remembrance,
The [Organization/Library] Family
