In Loving Memory of Reed Patrick Russell

Spread the love

June 3, 1987 – April 19, 2025
Bay Pines, Florida

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Reed Patrick Russell, who left this world far too soon on April 19, 2025, at the age of 37. Though his time with us was brief, Reed’s life was marked by deep love, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to lifting others up.

Born on June 3, 1987, Reed grew up with a quiet strength and a generous heart that would define his life’s journey. He was a son, a brother, a friend, a mentor—and to many, a beacon of encouragement and optimism. His vibrant spirit and warm smile could light up a room, and his words—always thoughtful and kind—had a way of reaching people when they needed it most.

Reed called Bay Pines, Florida his home and carried with him a profound love for the beauty of nature and the close-knit sense of community that surrounded him. Whether he was walking along the shore, volunteering in local outreach efforts, or simply sharing coffee and conversation with a friend, Reed found joy in the little things and in making genuine connections.

To his family, Reed was a cherished son and sibling—deeply loyal, always dependable, and endlessly loving. To his friends, he was the one they could always count on for a listening ear, an honest perspective, or a laugh at just the right moment. He had an incredible gift for empathy and an intuitive sense of when someone needed support.

Reed’s legacy is woven into the lives he touched. He believed in the power of kindness, and he lived his life with intention—choosing compassion over judgment, hope over fear, and action over apathy. His quiet leadership and selfless nature inspired others to be better, do more, and love harder.

Though we mourn his loss, we take comfort in knowing that his life made a difference. Reed leaves behind a trail of beautiful memories, and his spirit continues to echo in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. From spontaneous road trips to heartfelt conversations, his memory is stitched into the fabric of those special moments that make life meaningful.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Reed on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Bridgepoint Church. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather and share stories, laughter, and the warmth of community that Reed valued so dearly. A graveside service will follow later that day at Bay Pines National Cemetery, where Reed will be laid to rest among heroes and remembered with the dignity he so deeply deserved.

As we say goodbye, we hold fast to Reed’s enduring message: that even the smallest acts of kindness can create lasting ripples, and that love, once given, never fades.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local mental health or veterans’ support organization in Reed’s memory—causes that were close to his heart.

May his soul find peace, and may his memory be a blessing.
