Lynchburg Police Investigate Targeted Non-Fatal Shooting on 12th Street

Lynchburg, VA – The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred late Friday night, June 13, in the 1600 block of 12th Street. Just before 11:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area following a report of multiple gunshots fired.

Upon arrival, police determined that the shooting involved gunfire exchanged between two vehicles. According to the LPD, an adult male sustained a graze wound during the incident. He was promptly transported to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment and has since been released, with his injuries not considered life-threatening.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident, indicating that those involved were known to one another. Fortunately, no other injuries have been reported, and the department has reassured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the broader community.
