On the evening of Tuesday, May 6, 2025, the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) responded to a fatal shooting on Bedford Avenue in Lynchburg, Virginia. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Zaykeese Amarius Brown, a resident of Lynchburg. Brown succumbed to a gunshot wound to the chest.

According to LPD, surveillance footage from the scene captured an individual walking away from the area shortly after the shooting. Investigators believe this person may be connected to the incident and are using the footage as a lead in their ongoing investigation.
