Man Identified as Marcus D. Taylor Killed in Shooting at Krush Nightclub in Killeen; Two Arrested as Investigation Continues

KILLEEN, Texas – A deadly shooting inside Krush Nightclub on East Veterans Memorial Boulevard has left Marcus D. Taylor, 27, dead and sparked a major investigation by the Killeen Police Department (KPD). The incident occurred early Sunday morning, June 30, 2025, around 3 a.m., and has since left the community shaken.

According to Killeen Police Chief Pete Lopez, officers were dispatched to the scene following reports of a shooting inside the nightclub. Upon arrival, they were met by security personnel who informed them that a male had been shot during an altercation inside the venue.

“As officers attempted to enter the building, more than 100 patrons were observed fleeing the premises,” Lopez said in a statement.

Once inside, officers discovered Marcus Taylor with a gunshot wound. Emergency responders from the Killeen Fire Department rendered medical aid, but Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigation and Arrests

The Killeen Police Criminal Investigations Division immediately took over the case, securing the scene and speaking with multiple witnesses. Surveillance footage is also being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.

While initial reports indicated no immediate arrests, police later confirmed that two individuals were taken into custody in connection with the shooting. Their names and charges are expected to be released following formal processing.

Chief Lopez emphasized that based on initial findings, the shooting appears to have been an isolated incident, with no continued threat to the public.

Victim Remembered

Marcus D. Taylor, a resident of Killeen, is being remembered by friends and family as a kind-hearted and spirited individual who had dreams of advancing his career and building a family. His sudden and violent death has left loved ones devastated.

“Marcus didn’t deserve this,” said a close family member. “He had plans. He had people who loved him. We want answers, and we want justice.”

Appeal to the Public

The Killeen Police Department is continuing to gather information and evidence and is calling on the public to assist. Those who witnessed the shooting or may have captured video or photos during or around the time of the incident are urged to come forward.

Tips can be submitted anonymously to Bell County Crime Stoppers at 254-526-TIPS (8477). Members of the public may also upload any related photo or video evidence through a secure link provided by the police department.

“We are asking the community to assist us in bringing justice to Marcus Taylor and his family,” said Chief Lopez.
