Milwaukee police have arrested three men at addresses linked to the abduction of 7-year-old Jamal White, who was taken at gunpoint on Friday, July 11, 2025, by a masked man. The arrests were reported in police logs on Sunday, July 13, 2025. Jamal was found safe on Saturday evening, July 12, 2025, bringing relief to his family and the community.

A 25-year-old man was arrested at the home where Jamal was located, in the 2000 block of North 39th Street, on July 12 at approximately 5:45 p.m. He is currently in custody on a probation violation charge. Additionally, two 27-year-old men were arrested at the home from which Jamal was abducted, in the 6200 block of West Hustis Street on Milwaukee’s northwest side. One of the two is being held on tentative charges of resisting and obstructing, while the other faces a tentative charge of second-degree recklessly endangering safety. It remains unclear whether these charges are directly related to the abduction, as police have not provided further details on the connection.

Jamal White was abducted outside his home around 7:00 p.m. on July 11, 2025, when a Black male suspect wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black face mask forced him into a white Jeep Renegade SUV with an unknown license plate. The incident prompted an Amber Alert, issued just before midnight on Friday, as authorities and the community mobilized to locate the boy. Jamal, described as a 7-year-old Black male, approximately 4 feet tall, weighing 80 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes, was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts.

Less than 24 hours later, Jamal was found safe around 6:36 p.m. on July 12, approximately six and a half miles from his home near 39th and Lloyd streets. The Milwaukee Police Department announced, “Jamal has been located and is safe. The Milwaukee Police Department would like to thank everyone for their assistance in this matter.” Jamal was taken to a hospital for examination, and his cousin, Nikki Harrington, expressed excitement and relief to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel upon learning he was safe. Another family member, Cherica Morrise, who identified herself as Jamal’s grandmother, posted on Facebook, “Baby J has been found and he’s okay! One person has been arrested. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support!”

According to doorbell camera footage described by Jamal’s aunt, Simone White, four masked men with guns were involved in the abduction, which occurred as Jamal’s father was nearby, returning from a park. The white Jeep Renegade was later located by police, though details about how Jamal was found or the circumstances of the arrests remain limited. The Milwaukee Police Department has confirmed that the 25-year-old man is believed to be directly involved in the abduction, and charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office. Authorities have stated there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The community’s response was swift, with family, friends, and residents organizing searches on July 12, distributing flyers, and checking neighborhoods, businesses, and wooded areas. Some expressed frustration over the time it took for the Amber Alert to be issued, but the focus remained on ensuring Jamal’s safe return. Raven Jackson, another cousin, described Jamal to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as a sweet, playful, and charismatic child who “just enjoys being him.”

As of July 14, 2025, no further updates have been released regarding the investigation or additional arrests. The Milwaukee Police Department continues to seek information from the public, urging anyone with details to contact them at (414) 935-7242 or dial 911.
