The community of Pittsfield, Illinois, is mourning the tragic loss of two Pittsfield High School students, Joel Noble and Jesse Davidsmeyer, who were killed in a car accident in Morgan County on Saturday, May 24, 2025. The crash occurred around 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 67 and Woodson Winchester Road. Four others were injured, with two in serious condition and airlifted to hospitals.
Superintendent Todd Fox expressed the community’s grief, stating, “It is with incredible sadness and disbelief that I share the heartbreaking news of the sudden loss of two of our high school students.” Counseling services are being provided to students, staff, and families.
This incident follows a similar tragedy earlier in the year when Pikeland High School freshman Reese Brielle Ramsey died in a head-on collision. Community members are calling for increased efforts to address teen driving safety, including educational programs and stricter enforcement of traffic laws.
As the investigation continues, the Pittsfield community remains united in grief and determination to seek justice and promote safer driving practices.
