SEATTLE, WA — Deadly Nightclub Shooting in Pioneer Square Leaves Three Dead, One Critically Injured
A tragic and deadly shooting outside a popular nightclub in Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square district early Saturday morning has left three people dead and one in critical condition, according to the Seattle Police Department. The shooting occurred just before 2:00 a.m. near the OHM Nightclub, a well-known venue located at 172 South Washington Street.
Authorities say officers responded swiftly to reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds on or near the sidewalk outside the club. Despite efforts by first responders and medics at the scene, three of the victims were pronounced dead shortly after being found. The fourth victim, described as being in critical condition, was rushed to Harborview Medical Center for emergency treatment.
As dawn broke over Seattle, the area around the nightclub was cordoned off with crime scene tape. Evidence markers littered the street and sidewalk as homicide detectives, forensic units, and officers combed through the scene, collecting shell casings, reviewing security camera footage, and interviewing witnesses. Police have not yet released the names or ages of the victims, pending notification of their families.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and investigators have yet to determine if the gunfire stemmed from a personal dispute, gang-related activity, or an altercation that escalated inside or outside the club. No suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests had been made as of Saturday morning.
Interim Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz issued a statement expressing deep concern and outrage over the violence. “This is an incredibly tragic event for our city,” Diaz said. “Gun violence has no place in our community, and we are working diligently to find those responsible and bring them to justice. We are also collaborating with community leaders and local establishments to ensure this kind of senseless violence does not happen again.”
OHM Nightclub is known for hosting late-night parties, DJ sets, and special events that draw in crowds from all over the city and beyond. Located in one of Seattle’s busiest nightlife districts, Pioneer Square has faced mounting concerns over public safety in recent years. Though efforts have been made by city officials to revitalize the area, incidents like this underscore the challenges faced in balancing a vibrant entertainment scene with public safety.
Witnesses reported hearing a series of loud pops followed by chaos as patrons fled the area. “It was terrifying,” said one witness who asked not to be named. “We were just leaving the club when we heard the shots. Everyone was screaming and running. I saw someone fall right outside the entrance.”
Community leaders and city officials have since spoken out about the need for increased police presence and better violence prevention measures around nightlife hotspots. Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and pledged support for law enforcement’s investigation. “Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this horrific tragedy. The City of Seattle is committed to doing everything in its power to ensure justice is served and to create a safer environment for everyone.”
Police are urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time or who has video footage or information about the incident to come forward. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers or directly to the Seattle Police Department’s violent crimes unit.
As the investigation continues, grief and uncertainty loom over the Pioneer Square neighborhood and beyond. Saturday morning’s events mark one of the deadliest shootings in Seattle in recent memory, and the community now awaits answers—and justice—for those who lost their lives in an evening that began with celebration and ended in tragedy.
