Shasta County Man Arrested for Multiple Counts of Child Sexual Abuse
SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. (June 28, 2025) — The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit has arrested 21-year-old Skyler Eugene Darrah, of Shasta County, following a detailed investigation into serious allegations of child sexual abuse.
The investigation began in May 2025, after deputies responded to a report involving the sexual assault of a juvenile. Darrah was identified early in the investigation as the alleged suspect. Detectives quickly launched a thorough inquiry, during which a teenage female victim came forward and disclosed that Darrah had engaged in an ongoing sexual relationship with her. She described multiple instances of sexual abuse committed by Darrah.
As the case developed, investigators uncovered two additional past incidents involving similar allegations of rape and sodomy of minor females, both of which also named Darrah as the perpetrator. Based on the accumulating evidence, a felony arrest warrant was issued for Darrah on June 24, 2025.
Darrah was taken into custody on June 25, 2025, and booked into the Shasta County Jail on the following felony charges:
- 261(a)(2) PC – Rape by Force or Fear
- (2 counts) 261.5(c) PC – Unlawful Sexual Intercourse with a Minor
- 288.2(a)(2) PC – Sending Harmful Material with Intent to Seduce a Minor
- 286(c)(2) PC – Sodomy by Force, Violence, or Fear
- (3 counts) 288(c)(1) PC – Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a Minor
- 243.4(a) PC – Sexual Battery by Restraint
Darrah’s bail has been set at $1,500,000.
