Shooting Suspect Brandon Harvey Located and Arrested After Extensive Multi-Town Search
Bradley, ME – After an intense and wide-ranging manhunt, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the arrest of Brandon Harvey, 43, of Glenburn, in connection to a recent shooting incident that left one person seriously injured.
The investigation began following a shooting that occurred on Monday, June 9, on McCarty Road in Glenburn. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered two victims—one with serious gunshot wounds and another who sustained minor injuries. The more critically injured individual remains hospitalized in serious condition, while the second victim has since been treated and released.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office launched an extensive search for Harvey, who was identified early on as the primary suspect. Law enforcement conducted operations across several towns, including Glenburn, Kenduskeag, Bangor, Carmel, Newport, and Bradley. The investigation was significantly hampered at times due to a lack of cooperation from some individuals; however, the Sheriff’s Office emphasized that crucial information provided by members of the public was instrumental in leading authorities to Harvey’s location.
As new leads came in, deputies—along with the Sheriff’s Office K9 unit—narrowed their search to Penny Lane in Bradley. By evening, the focus shifted to Government Road, where Harvey was ultimately found at approximately 9:33 PM. He surrendered peacefully to law enforcement and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries that he reportedly sustained prior to his apprehension.
Harvey has a lengthy criminal record, and his arrest brings some measure of relief to a community shaken by the violent incident. Charges stemming from this shooting are expected to be announced shortly, pending further investigation and review by the District Attorney’s Office.
Sheriff Troy Morton issued a statement expressing deep gratitude to the public and allied agencies for their efforts:
“We thank the many members of the public who provided information during this investigation. Your willingness to assist law enforcement helped us bring this suspect into custody safely. We also extend our appreciation to the Penobscot Regional Communications Center for their tireless coordination throughout this operation.”
The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting, including possible motives, the nature of the suspect’s relationship with the victims, and whether any additional individuals may be connected to the case.
Further updates will be provided as the investigation allows.
