Tomahawk Creek Middle School Mourns Beloved Special Education Teacher Davilee Kadrlik, Whose Passion and Dedication Left Lasting Impact
The Tomahawk Creek Middle School community in Chesterfield County, Virginia, is mourning the loss of Davilee Kadrlik, a dedicated special education teacher who passed away on May 31, 2025, at the age of 51. Her sudden passing has left a profound impact on students, colleagues, and the broader community.
A Life of Passion and Dedication
Davilee was a proud graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and a lifelong advocate for the arts. Her creativity and passion led her to Los Angeles, where she pursued her musical and acting dreams, even performing at the legendary House of Blues with her own original music. Eventually returning home to Richmond, Davilee discovered her true calling in special education. She began teaching at Falling Creek Middle School and found her heart in the classroom.
Remembering Davilee
Colleagues and students remember Davilee as a compassionate and inspiring educator. Her dedication to her students and her creative approach to teaching left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
In an email to Tomahawk Creek families, school officials shared, “It is with sadness that I am writing to share that we have learned that one of our staff members, Davilee Kadrlik, has passed away. We received permission from the family to share this with you. We will continue to keep the family in our thoughts during this difficult time.”
Community Support and Memorial
To assist the Kadrlik family during this difficult time, a GoFundMe campaign has been established to help alleviate the financial burden of medical and memorial expenses.
A celebration of life memorial is scheduled for Wednesday, June 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Garden Hall building at Maymont.
