FORT MILL, S.C. — A fatal shooting at a motel near Carowinds amusement park has left the community in shock, as authorities continue their investigation into the incident.
The York County Sheriff’s Office reported that the shooting occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2025, in the parking lot of the Motel 6 located at 3541 Foothills Way in Fort Mill. Deputies responded to the scene and found one individual who had been shot. Despite efforts by emergency personnel, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The York County Coroner’s Office has not publicly identified the victim, and no details regarding the victim’s identity, age, or residence have been released as of the latest updates.
