TWO ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO YEMASSEE HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION

YEMASSEE, S.C. — The Hampton County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of two individuals in connection with a homicide that occurred on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in the Yemassee area. The shooting took place near the intersection of Ishmel Road and Simmons Street and tragically resulted in the death of 21-year-old Tyshawn Shaw, a resident of Yemassee.

Following a thorough and intensive investigation, law enforcement officers have arrested Gregory Deran Black, age 18, and Michael Shaun Morris, age 17. Both suspects have been formally charged with Murder and Armed Robbery in relation to Shaw’s death. They are currently being held at the Hampton County Detention Center, pending further legal proceedings.

This case marks a significant step forward in the ongoing efforts by the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office to ensure public safety and hold violent offenders accountable.
