PORTLAND, OR — What began as a festive Fourth of July celebration in downtown Portland turned into a scene of chaos and fear when a person, later identified by police only as Jane Doe, allegedly went on a violent rampage, attacking multiple people — including at least one child — with a knife, a stick, and bare fists.

The unsettling incident occurred on the evening of Friday, July 4th, as families and revelers gathered near the waterfront for holiday festivities. Witnesses described the attacker as agitated, unpredictable, and aggressive, targeting random individuals in the crowd without provocation. The suspect, described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 260 pounds, was notably wearing fuchsia hotpants and appeared to be in a frenzied state.

Multiple 911 calls were made as bystanders tried to shield children and escape the unfolding violence. Several victims were reportedly punched, while others suffered injuries from a knife and stick wielded by the assailant.
