In Loving Memory of Dovydas Palkis
It is with immense sorrow and a profound sense of loss that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Dovydas Palkis, a beloved former player, teammate, and cherished member of our club. Dovydas was not just a talented footballer with a gifted left leg—he was a young man of character, kindness, and quiet strength who left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Dovydas played with pride and passion for our club over many years, representing us with skill, sportsmanship, and a deep love for the game. His talent on the pitch was undeniable, but what truly set Dovydas apart was his spirit—humble, respectful, and always ready with a smile or a kind word. Whether he was training on a cold evening or competing in the heat of a close match, Dovydas gave his all, inspiring those around him with his dedication and graceful style of play.
Off the field, Dovydas was equally special. He had a warmth about him that made teammates into friends and friends into family. He was the kind of person who lifted others up without even realizing it—through quiet encouragement, thoughtful gestures, and simply being himself. His presence in the dressing room, the dugout, and the community will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
Our hearts go out to Dovydas’s devoted family during this incredibly difficult time. To his mother Stella and father Vidmantas, stepfather John and Vidmantas’s partner Agne, and to his stepsister Chloe—we offer our deepest condolences. No words can ease the pain of your loss, but please know that Dovydas was deeply loved and admired, and his memory will be forever etched in the hearts of those who shared the pitch and life’s moments with him.
To Dovydas’s wider circle of friends, teammates, former coaches, and the entire Skibbereen community—let us stand together in mourning, in gratitude, and in remembrance. Let us honour his life by holding tight to the joy he brought us and the legacy he leaves behind: one of humility, talent, and quiet brilliance.
In tribute to Dovydas, our club will remember not only the incredible goals he scored or the matches he helped win, but the human being he was—compassionate, genuine, and full of promise. His memory will live on in our hearts, in our stories, and every time we step onto the field that he once graced with so much heart.
Rest in peace, Dovydas. You will always be one of us.
