Anthony Davis scored 29 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Washington Wizards beat the Orlando Magic 103-94 at the Kia Center on Monday night. Washington trailed early in the second quarter, seized control with a decisive run, and then held Orlando at arm's length for the rest of the night, handing the Magic a fourth straight defeat on their own court and moving to 4-3 for the season.

Key Points

• Anthony Davis led Washington with 29 points and eight rebounds, shooting 12 of 17 from the field.
• The Wizards beat the Magic 103-94 in Orlando on Monday, November 2, 2026.
• AJ Dybantsa scored 21 points in his third NBA game and Kyshawn George added 22.
• Trae Young scored 10 points in a 13-2 run that turned the game Washington's way.
• Franz Wagner led Orlando with 24 points, but the Magic shot just 28.2 percent from three-point range.

What Happened

Orlando started the brighter of the two sides and led 33-28 after the first quarter. The Magic stretched that advantage to nine points early in the second quarter, and for a while it looked as though the home side would take charge of the night. Washington answered with a 13-2 run, and Young was at the heart of it, scoring 10 of those points himself to flip the momentum. The Wizards led 60-59 at half-time, a one-point edge that barely reflected how much the game had changed.

The third quarter settled it. Washington won the period 19-9, strangling Orlando's offence and building a lead that reached 79-68 by the end of the quarter, the largest margin of the game. Young capped an 8-0 burst with a layup to complete that run, and from there the Wizards never trailed again. Orlando made a late push in the fourth, winning the final period 26-24, but never got closer than single digits in the closing minutes, and Washington closed the game out calmly at the free-throw line.

The shooting numbers told the story of the night. Washington shot 53 percent from the field as a team, moving the ball and finding clean looks all evening, while Orlando finished 11 of 39 from three-point range, just 28.2 percent, after making four of its first five attempts from deep. Once those early threes stopped falling, the Magic had no second way to score consistently, and their offence ground to a halt in the third quarter.

Background and Context

The win continues a strong start for Washington, who improved to 4-3 and sit fifth in the Eastern Conference standings after Monday's 15-game slate. The Wizards arrived in Orlando missing French forward Alex Sarr, out with knee soreness, and still found enough depth to win on the road against a Southeast Division rival.

For Orlando, the defeat deepened an early-season slide. The Magic fell to 2-5 and have now lost four straight games at home, a worrying trend for a team that expected to defend its own court. Franz Wagner's 24 points led the side, Desmond Bane added 20, and Jamal Cain and Tristan da Silva each scored 10, but no one else reached double figures, and the supporting cast could not keep pace when Washington's stars took over.

Anthony Davis 29 Points Power Wizards Road Win

Davis was the difference between the two teams. His 29 points came on an efficient 12-of-17 shooting, he added eight rebounds and three steals, and he gave Washington a reliable scoring option every time Orlando threatened to rally. When the Magic pushed, Davis answered inside; when the game slowed down, he finished through contact and kept the scoreboard moving.

The young talent around him made the win feel like more than a one-man show. AJ Dybantsa, playing just his third NBA game, scored 21 points and looked entirely at home on a big stage, while Kyshawn George added 22 points and five assists. Young finished with 15 points and nine assists, and his second-quarter burst was the turning point of the night. Washington's blend of a proven star, a creative point guard and fearless young scorers is starting to look like a genuine identity.

Reactions and Quotes

The reporting from Orlando framed the game as a lesson in efficiency. Washington shot the ball well, shared it, and defended the three-point line after a shaky start, while Orlando paid for a cold night from deep and a third quarter in which it managed just nine points.

For Washington, the road win carries extra weight because it came without Sarr and against a team desperate to stop a home losing streak. The Wizards have now won four of their first seven games, and their early-season form has them firmly in the Eastern Conference play-off picture.

Why It Matters

For Washington, this result matters because it shows the team can win away from home without its full roster. Davis gives them a star who can dominate a game, Young gives them a closer who can swing a quarter on his own, and Dybantsa and George give them a future that is already contributing in the present. If that mix holds together, the Wizards will be a difficult team to play against all season.

For Orlando, the concern is the pattern, not just one defeat. Four straight home losses, a 2-5 record and an offence that stalls when the threes stop falling add up to a team searching for answers. Wagner and Bane are producing, but the Magic need more from the rest of the roster and a steadier half-court attack if they are to climb back into the play-off race before the gap grows.

What Happens Next

Washington will look to build on the road win when it returns to action later this week, while Orlando will try to end its home losing streak in its next game at the Kia Center. The Magic have little time to dwell on this defeat, with the schedule offering an immediate chance to correct the third-quarter collapse that cost them on Monday night.
